Full Paediatric First Aid (Blended Learning - 1 day practical + e-learning)

This innovative course combines one day of focussed practical training, with 6hrs of interactive e-learning. The result is a memorable and enjoyable learning experience that maximises recall and provides the skills, knowledge and confidence to act effectively when emergencies arise.

The course meets all EYFS/OFSTED requirements and CSSIW and Scottish Early Years

£85 per person at one of our training venues.
From £50 per person for groups of 12 at your workplace.

About this course

Our blended paediatric first aid course is in 2 parts which can be taken in any order:

Part 1 is a practical training session under the guidance of one of our fun, dynamic and experienced trainers guiding you through all the practical life-saving techniques.

Part 2 is an online e-learning module which can be done either before or after the practical training session on any computer or mobile device. You will receive a link to the e-learning module when you book the course.

Our paediatric first aid course covers the following subjects:

  • The aims of First Aid, the role of the paediatric first aider
  • Accident reporting and first aid kits
  • The Primary Assessment
  • Infant, child and adult resuscitation (CPR)
  • Recovery position and Secondary Survey
  • Infant, child and adult choking
  • Epilepsy and seizures
  • Meningitis
  • Asthma
  • Allergic reactions and anaphylactic shock
  • Shock, bleeds & minor injuries
  • Fractures, dislocations, sprains & strains
  • Head, neck and spinal injuries
  • Croup
  • Sickle Cell Anaemia
  • Diabetes
  • Poisons
  • Bites & stings
  • Electrical shocks, burns & scalds
  • Drowning
  • Extreme temperatures: heat stroke, hypo and hyperthermia

You will receive a FREE Paediatric First Aid Manual – the most comprehensive available in the UK and have the option to take a FREE Annual Refresher Course.

On the day

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring photo ID - our trainer will request sight of this for certification purposes.

We provide light refreshments at our training centres, but not lunch – so you may wish to bring your own or purchase your lunch at the venue or nearby.

This course suitable for learners of all confidence levels and those with special requirements. It is designed to be fun and dynamic with memorable training techniques that maximise recall.

This course is available at one of our open training venues across the UK.

We can also run the course at your place of work anywhere in the UK.


The e-learning module should take around 6 hours to complete. The practical session lasts around 7 hours including breaks. Our open courses start at 10am and finish at approx 5pm. Courses at your place of work can be run at a time to suit you.


There is a multiple choice assessment at the end of the e-learning module. You will also be assessed by your trainer during the practical session.


Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a Paediatric First Aid certificate which is valid for 3 years and meets OFSTED/EYFS requirements.

FREE Training Credits

Learners unable to attend your In-House Paediatric First Aid Course may be eligible to receive FREE training at their local Tigerlily Training Centre. The number of FREE Training Credits will be confirmed at the time of your booking.

* Training Credits are issued if an onsite site course is booked but not all places are used. Credits can be used at any of our open venue courses and are valid for 12 months.
