First Aid for Schools (Early Years to 18 Years) 1 day practical training + Optional eLearning at our UK wide venues or at your place of work

Our First Aid for Schools course meets the full requirements of OFSTED, the DfE and the HSE and is the perfect course for all schools caring for infants through to secondary education.

What are the First Aid requirements for schools?

A school has dual responsibility for the welfare of its pupils and staff. This means that you must have BOTH Paediatric and Adult qualified first aiders. The UK Resus Council updated their guidance in September 2021 to state that Paediatric First Aid Protocols must be followed on infants through to 18 years.

This course meets the OFSTED criteria for Early Years. the DfE requirement for all pupils and the HSE requirement for the welfare of adults working at or visiting a school.

Please note as per your risk assessment you will also need someone on-site at all times holding a three-day FAW qualification

How is this course delivered?

All Qualified First Aiders must complete face to face practical training. Therefore this course is delivered face to face with 7 hours of practical training covering paediatric and emergency first aid at work course content.  Those working within early years will be required to also complete 6 hours of at-home elearning to meet the full OFSTED criteria of 12 hours of learning.
