Safeguarding Designated Person Children Level 35 hours Face-to-Face Virtual or at Your Place of Work
Our 5hr Safeguarding Designated Person L3 course, sometimes called Designated Safeguarding Officer, is 5hrs of face-to-face virtual training. This course is designed for those in a position of Safeguarding Designated Person or Officer in a Childcare or Young Persons setting such as a nursery, childcare centre, school or activity club.
To access this course, you must hold an L2 Advanced Safeguarding Certificate
Who is this course most suitable for?
This course is suitable for anyone who works with children and holds a management, supervisory or designated child protection role. The course is suitable for anyone who has some knowledge of safeguarding procedures. Those who are not working as a Designated person or Lead Officer should consider our 3hr Advanced Safeguarding Children L2

Aims of the Course
On completion of this course, learners will:
• Know the laws, policies and guidance documents that contribute towards best safeguarding and child protection practice.
• Understand their roles and responsibilities as the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Know how to recognise and respond to abuse appropriately and efficiently.
• Understand the framework for safeguarding and child protection and how best to respond to children's differing levels of need under the framework.
• Know when and how to share information.
• Know how to take action should they disagree with actions or decisions made.
• Understand the importance of recording and storing information.
