This 2-hour live virtual awareness course provides essential knowledge of how to recognise and respond to anaphylaxis, severe allergic reactions, asthma attacks and an unresponsive casualty.
You’ll learn about common allergens and the signs of anaphylaxis, the purpose of adrenaline devices, asthma triggers and how to recognise a severe asthma attack. The course also covers the principles of the recovery position, CPR and AED use.
This is a theory-only course, with no practical skills practice or practical assessment. To successfully complete the course, you’ll need to pass a short multiple-choice assessment, after which you’ll receive a Certificate of Awareness.
Please note that this course is not equivalent to practical first aid training and should not be used where a practical qualification is required. It also does not meet the Allergy in Schools requirements under Benedict’s Law. Schools requiring this should book the Allergy Safety in Schools course.
