Full Paediatric First Aid (Blended Learning) (EYFS/Ofsted)

This innovative course combines one day of focussed practical training, with 6hrs of interactive e-learning. The result is a memorable and enjoyable learning experience that maximises recall and provides the skills, knowledge and confidence to act effectively when emergencies arise.

The practical training takes place at your nearest Tigerlily Training Centre under the guidance of our fun, dynamic and experienced trainers and the e-learning stage can be completed via any internet-based device.

The course meets all EYFS/OFSTED requirements and CSSIW and Scottish Early Years

This course is most suitable for Childminders, Nannies, Early Years Practitioners, Teachers, Parents, Childcare Professionals. It is suitable for learners of all confidence levels or those with special requirements.

Course Content

Stage 1: Tigerlily Training Centre / 6 Hours

Tutor lead training with one of our specialist paediatric first aid trainers guiding you through all the practical life-saving techniques. During this stage, you will learn:

Day One Practical Course
  • Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take
  • Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
  • Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
  • Help a baby or child who is having a seizure
  • Help a baby or child who is choking
  • Help a baby or child who is bleeding
  • Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock)

Stage 2: E-Learning (6 hours)

Day Two E-Learning
  • Help a baby or child who has had an electric shock
  • Help a baby or child who has burns or scalds
  • Help a baby or child who has a suspected fracture
  • Help a baby or child with head, neck or back injuries
  • Help a baby or child who is suspected of being poisoned
  • Help a baby or child with a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose
  • Help a baby or child with an eye injury
  • Help a baby or child with a bite or sting
  • Help a baby or child who is suffering from the effects of extreme heat or cold
  • Help a baby or child having: a diabetic emergency; an asthma attack; an allergic reaction; meningitis; and/or febrile convulsions
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider (including appropriate contents of a first aid box and the need for recording accidents and incidents)

Practical training at a Tigerlily Training Centre: 6 Hours

E-Learning: 6 Hours

All our courses start at 10:00am and finish at approx 17:00

What to bring

Comfortable clothes

Photo ID – our trainer will request sight of this for certification purposes

We provide light refreshments at our Training Centres, but not lunch – so you may wish to bring your own or purchase your lunch at the venue or nearby


Certificates are valid for 3 years and meet OFSTED/EYFS requirements

FREE Training Credits

Learners unable to attend your In-House Paediatric First Aid Course may be eligible to receive FREE training at their local Tigerlily Training Centre. The number of FREE Training Credits will be confirmed at the time of your booking.

Please note Tigerlily Training is a not for Profit organisation supplying education/training services and therefore is not registered for VAT.

* Training Credits are issued if an onsite site course is booked but not all places are used. Credits can be used at any of our open venue courses and are valid for 12 months.
